02/09/2010 - National Non-League Day This Saturday
With no Premier League football this weekend, there is a campaign to get football fans to go and watch one of their local non-league teams . The obvious choice has to be Maine Road FC v Ramsbottom at Brantingham Road. The Kick-off is 3:00pm and it won't get moved for t.v.!Try and encourage any friends and family to get down and see what good value for money a game at Brantingham Road can be.
If anyone makes the excuse that they have "other plans", tell them they'll just have to come on Tueday night v Glossop North End instead!
Reserves
Road's second-string went down to a 2-1 defeat last night in a local derby against table-topping Denton Town. Early reports suggest that apart from the first ten minutes the team played exceptionally well and there are signs that the lads are now getting use to playing with one another and that results will start to turn in their favour. Hopefully a match report will follow fairly soon.
29/08/2010 - Road-Kill Squirrels*
Road travelled to Formby this weekend and came away with a comfortable 3-0 win. This was very welcome after two narrow home defeats and now leaves Road in 6th position in the League and with the second best goal difference. The goals came via a penalty from Declan O'Shea and two more from Chris Hirst.
The Match Report and Photos are now online
